Tim Crouse, Ron Nurmi and I made a trip to Omaha to play in a four round tournament directed by Ben Ryan on December 5th 2009. Tim went 4-0 to win the event beating Joseph Knapp (1947) in the final round. As usual Tim was under five minutes in each game providing exciting chess for the audience to watch. Tim gained 55 rating points for his effort. I calculated his performance rating using the USCF estimator to be 2347 for this tournament. The last time Tim gained this many rating points was the Chicago Open on 5-28-06 when he gained 83 points. On 7-9-05 he gained 59 rating points in the Cedar Rapids Open. Congratulations Tim!
